3 Destination Wedding Must Have's

With most couples, their wedding day is the biggest event they have ever planned and probably spending more money then ever before. Sometimes it can feel like you are completely in the dark and have no idea what you need and what you can probably do without when planning a destination from afar.

Here are a few ideas to consider that is worth the costs and consideration, when your BIG DAY is on the line:

1.Professional Cake Cutting: Yes (if you are having a large tiered cake)

It may seem like a simple service to cut out. Anyone can take knife and cut some cake - right? Well, yes, but this is something that you defiantly do not want to deal with on your big day and you know Aunt May might have too much wine to handle a big knife. This is usually a nominal per person fee from your venue to take this off your plate (pun intended)

2. Plan B: Yes (a must!)

No one want to talk rain or bad weather on their wedding day, but if you are having a destination wedding it could be a possibility. Just make sure you have a plan B with your venue and know when you need to make a final decision by. Ask your venue what your Plan B options might be even before you sign the contract. You need to know what the options are (so we just have sides to the tent or move the party inside) and how much this may or may not add to the cost. Then hopefully you never have to think about it again.

Extra Pro Tip: If its not already in the contract, make sure the options for plan B (and prices) are listed before you sign on the dotted line.

3. Time Line: Yes (of some sort)

Destination weddings tend to be more on the casual side. This may be a big reason you decided to go with a destination wedding. That's great and very true! Being fun and casual doesn't mean you can't (or shouldn't) have any structure. There will be so much going on on this day that it's a good idea to think about what is really important to that are you "must haves or must dos" This could be picture with Grandma to toasts from Dad - this is the important things you want to make sure happen and don't get looked over in the chaos of the party. If your not a schedule type person, that's OK too. Your venue will have a general timeline that can add your important things and help you create the best day ever!
